Noisily 2023 Update

Dear Noisily Family,

You may or may not be aware that festivals across the board in the UK are struggling to sell tickets.

We’re all feeling the pinch, and with less money in pockets, it seems our cherished scene is one of the first things to suffer, leaving our rich festival culture out in the cold.

The irony is that what we need most in these challenging times is human connection, and we believe wholeheartedly that Noisily is the antidote.

Ask yourself what you really need? What do you really need to feel whole and connected again?

Remember how it felt to be back in the woods, with your family?

“There’s no comparison, this is the most close knit, friendly group of people you could possibly imagine.”

“It’s like the family who you were always looking for and never quite found”

“It makes me feel myself, more than anywhere else in the world”

With 42 days until we meet for our 10th Birthday in our new home of Barkestone Woods we are moving forward with our plans, and guarantee, in true Noisily form, that it’s going to be a Serious Fucking Party.

What we need is to know you’re with us. We need you to buy a ticket now, not next month – NOW – so we can hear our Noisily family saying… “We will be there – and it’s going to be EPIC”

With love, gratitude and respect,

The Noisily Team xxx

CREATIVES OF NOISILY – Paul Muncaster

We interviewed some of our Creatives of Noisily to reveal the personality and inspiration behind the art…

Introducing: Paul Muncaster.

What is your involvement at Noisily this year?

I will be showing 2 of my sculptures.

What inspired you to work in events? And who was your greatest inspiration?

I’ve always loved making art and being creative. I have gone to festivals and gigs for many years and I am always inspired by the art installations and visuals, wishing I could do something similar of my own. The Arcadia sculptures and stages always impress me!

Where is your dream place, for your work to be exhibited?

I would love to make a sculpture for Glastonbury or Burning Man festival.

What were your first events you worked on and what was the experience like?

I started off working as a gallery technician for a gallery in Bristol called Spike Island, which is a creative hub in the city. It was very varied as I worked with artists to exhibit their work, from video and sound installations, to more traditional work. I got to be creative and work with lots of amazing artists being part of an incredible team of people and the wider Spike Island community. The work was hugely varied and the quick turn around of exhibitions and events meant that it was very busy meeting
deadlines but also lots of fun and very rewarding.

Where did you learn your craft? and what are your qualifications?

I have a BA in fine art specialising in sculpture from UWIC, since then I have had various jobs in the creative industry. I have worked painting theatre sets, planning and installing exhibitions in galleries in Bristol and London and have fabricated art works for other artists. I am currently a technician on the fine art course at UOG helping students make
their work and spend the rest of my time making my own sculptures.

What is your favourite piece that you previously created or worked on?

My favourite exhibition that i worked on was a sound installation – Cevdet Erek’s Alt: Üst at Spike island. There was also an incredible live performance during the exhibition by Empty Set. Check them out. Of my own work, it’s the hyper cube net that i installed at Noisily last year, it was the first time that i have shown my work at a festival and it was such an incredible experience.

What are you working on at the moment?

At the moment I am making a large sculpture for Noisily. it is inspired by the new logo and is to celebrate their 10 year anniversary.

What excites you about exhibiting at Noisily?

Coney woods was such a beautiful site and i’m so glad I got to experience Noisily there. I am excited and honoured to be asked back again. I am really looking forward to the experience as a whole, seeing the festival come together, realising an ambitious project and watching people engage with it. I cant wait to party with everyone.

Noisily Festival Announces a New Stage: The Stove

Noisily Festival Announces a New Stage: The Stove 🎛️

We are pleased to announce the coming of new stage ‘The Stove’ to Noisily 2023…

The home of Grilled House, this brand new stage will sit amongst our new food trader area, and will allow you to unwind to the latest Pan-American beats as the latest DJ’s from the grilled house scene cook up a casserole of musical flavours right before your eyes.

While you knock back a pizza or indulge in the latest Mac & Cheese combinations, ‘The Stove’, which we banned from being in our own campsite due to potential noise complaints, will deliver a plethora of world class acts just to left of the Italian Kitchen and right round the corner from Burger Theory.

We are pleased to announce that the legendary Honduran combo ‘Dj Can-Opener’ & ‘Stock Pot’ will be performing an exclusive back 2 back set on the Friday lunchtime as we bring Grilled House to the UK for the first time in what is a first for Noisily as we break a new underground scene, and put Leicestershire on the global dance music map once again with our explorative meanderings.

Tuned in travel

How are you getting to Noisily? 🚎

We’re excited to announce that we’ve teamed up with Tuned in Travel to bring you nationwide coach services to and from Noisily from various city locations!

It is our hope that these measures will encourage people to reduce their carbon footprint and kick off their festival a few hours earlier by meeting some friends on the bus.

Noisily 2023 Line-up Announcement

Dear Noisily Family,

We are immensely proud to announce that our 2023 main stage programmes are here…

As Noisily rolls towards its 10th birthday in its wonderful new home of Barkestone Wood, deep in the English countryside with the most diverse and exciting program we have ever put together, we could not be more excited.

We are also introducing two exciting new stages: The Hollow and The Nest.

Deep in the forest you will find ‘The Hollow’ – Our new night time venue focused on the raw, hypnotic techno sound that will take us on a journey from dusk to dawn with an exciting all female program of cutting edge DJ’s & producers.

Alongside this we welcome ‘The Nest’ to the Noisily 2023 program.  Our new home to live music – Delivering a multi-genre program exploring all manners of live performance from live electronica & techno right through to dub beats and groove laden psychedelic rock – with elements of jazz and space rock – The aim of this stage is to bring together all the different flavours of Noisily into a live concert setting, and what better place to connect with our wonderful array of musicians than our beautiful new forest – tucked away in the beautiful Leicestershire countryside.

Of course the mainstays of Noisily remain in situ – The legendary Noisily Stage, Liquid & Treehouse as ever deliver forward thinking programs with a whole host of wonderful new artists for the Noisily family to indulge in, as the the whole production team raise the bar to new heights as we push the boundaries yet again in 2023.

As always the MBS is back ready to help you expand your MIND with talks & panel discussions, engage with your BODY through yoga, breath work, somatic exploration & ecstatic dance, Nourish your SOUL in meditation, ceremonies & ritual.  Awaken, balance & UNITE energies through intimate workshops & circles.

We think this is the best way we could celebrate turning 10 and setting the foundations for the next decade of Noisily!

See you in the woods…

Thank You from the Bottom of our Hearts…

Dear Noisily Family,

We have been left in awe by your brilliance, by the dedication of our crew, and by the energy in the woods this past weekend.

In the 11 years and 9 festivals since our conception in 2012 each year has usurped the former as the best Noisily yet, and 2022 has been no exception.

From the forest floor to the tip of Mind Body Soul, the vibrations of kindness and compassion echoed through our collective consciousness as we came together to bid farewell to our home in the Coney Woods one final time, and what a send off it was. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for bringing all of yourselves and more!

After 3 years away it almost felt as if we’d never left, and proved to us that although we are moving to a new home in 2023, that the soul of Noisily lives within the people who come each and every year to build, design, share, care, play, perform, live and love, and with you all by our sides the future can only be bright.

With all our love and gratitude,

The Noisily Team
