Years ago Tristram launched a movement against food waste that has gone global. Governments have passed new laws, big food corporations have bent to the public will, and mass behaviour change has aligned with planetary needs. Tristram founded the campaign charity Feedback and Toast Ale which now upcycles unsold bread into craft beer in 7 countries and pours the profits into charity. Most recently, Tristram helped feed the Extinction rebels on the streets of London, and continues to lay on meals for the Climate Strikers. At the heart of all the action is a profound force: eating and sharing food together. This social act physically connects us to each other, and to the land. The word “Companion” literally means someone you share food with (com=with, pan=bread). Let’s gather at Noisily to imagine and explore together other ways we can use the power of human companionship to guide Homo sapiens into a more balanced relationship with nature.
