Sacred Objects, Amulets, Charms and Talismans with Aggie Davis
£15 | Sunday 9 – 10.30am | CRAFT TIPI
Capacity – 8
This workshop opens a space for reflection and reconnection (to ourselves, the earth, the elements, deities, ancestors) through the creation of personal talismans, amulets, charms and mini-shrines.
Using symbolism, colour magic and the power of intention, natural and recycled/found materials will be brought together with extra magic to create tokens for many different purposes, such as luck, protection and grounding.
Alongside side materials and natural ephemera, goddess images will be provided. The practise of goddess worship goes back to ancient times, when female deities were once honoured in prayer and ritual to promote fertility and good harvest for the entire community. Today, goddesses act as both spiritual guides and psychological archetypes that help us better understand ourselves, our connection to others, and our relationship to the Earth.
Participants are invited to spend time creating a sacred object, and there is time to share the personal story behind it within the safe space of the group if they wish. Objects can be placed on a temporary group altar or ‘story-telling blanket’. These small, yet powerful totems often provide the starting point to difficult and moving stories, the act of sharing and witnessing these stories can be very empowering and transformative for participants.
