Movements, Postures, Breathing and the Philosophy of Practice
With Darren Springer & Sanae Orchi
Venue: Future of Living / Day & Time: Sunday 14:30 – 16:00; 16:15 – 17:45
The geometric positions and postures seen in the hieroglyphs and temple walls of Ancient Egypt are some of the earliest manifestations of yoga. We cover the Ancient Kemetic postures along with breathwork and meditation techniques that enhance ones practice and daily lifestyle. We breathe slow and controlled as we flow from one posture into the other. This stimulates the Parasympathetic aspect of the Central Nervous System and brings on physiological and chemical changes to support practice. We connect the inhalation and exhalation with the motion of the body. Our intention is not just to stretch the muscles or strengthen the body but also to move energy very precisely. Resistance will release from the body and resistance will release from the mind. In this relaxed state there is rejuvenation and there is healing on all levels.
