Benedick is a singer-songwriter, guitarist and percussionist from the UK, who has lived in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Accordingly, his music is a paean to opening up to new experiences and of leaving one’s comfort zone, and to the challenges and opportunities encountered along the way. Benedick takes inspiration from jazz and electronic music, Andean folkloric music, Brazilian samba and bossa nova, and African rhythmic trance, amongst other musical traditions. Atop it all sits a soulful voice and handpan melodies. His genre-spanning Purusha Sound EP, released in 2019, invites you to dance in celebration and pause for reflection in equal measure.
