Shinrin Yoku

Shinrin Yoku – forest bathing with Sam Gandy

Saturday 1515 | meet at MBS fountain

Sam Gandy is a lifelong nature lover, PhD ecologist and a psychedelics and nature connectedness researcher. Sam is a certified practitioner of Japanese ‘Shinrin Yoku’ or forest bathing, an active nature-based mindfulness-based practice. Not simply a walk in the woods, it is the conscious and contemplative practice of being immersed in the sights, sounds and smells of the forest. It is an easy and fun practice involving paired activities that encourage one to slow down and tune into their surroundings through their various senses, and is associated with a range of health benefits, including reducing stress, lowering blood pressure, promoting relaxation and well-being and boosting the immune system.
