The reciprocity crisis in psychedelics: recognition, respect, and royalties. A Panel discussion with Zoe Cormier, Dr Ros Watts, Dr David Luke & Nick Von Christierson
Saturday 13:00 – 14:30 | MIND
Psychedelics have gone from contraband chemicals to big business – by some estimates, the industry could balloon from $2 billion in 2020 to $10.75 billion by 2027. What are we to make of white businessmen making millions off the molecules that the rest of us have been exploring and developing in the underground scene for decades – or which a huge variety of cultures around the world have used as sacraments for thousands of years? How should respect, recognition – or even royalties be given? And if psychedelic startups are truly serious about “tackling the mental health crisis”, should they be looking to charge $10,000 or more for psychedelic therapy? How can we ensure fairness and equality as these medicines surge into the mainstream.
Join author Zoe Cormier, psychologist Rosalind Watts, academic David Luke, and Nick von Christierson, CEO of Woven Science, to discuss the reciprocity crisis in psychedelics.
