Noisily, Programming the Festival

For the past five years we’ve had the privilege of curating line ups across the festival, taking the sounds we listen to throughout the year and transferring them to the stages at Noisily.

In the beginning we booked within our means, billing artists and producers whom we’d dreamed of hosting on our very own stages. Over the years we’ve had festival stalwarts and cutting edge global stars descend on the hallowed Coney Woods, and bar a couple of red herrings in the early years, the soundtrack to the weekend has left you lot elated and smiling.

With so many people from so many people from so many walks of life at Noisily, the varying tastes in music create an inclusive atmosphere. At larger events with tens of thousands of people, the House Gangsters hang out with the House Gangsters, the DnB Heads hang out with the DnB Heads, and Psy Trance is the vestige of the far flung reaches of the festival.

At Noisily people arrive as strangers and leave as friends.

This year we are still booking within our means, however our means have gotten larger as the festival has grown from 450 in year 1, to an estimated 3,500 in 2017.

Past events have seen some incredible artists gracing the wheels of steel, with performances from… Ed Solo, Matador, Spektre, Max Cooper, Slam, Tristan, Avalon, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Audiobullys, Far Too Loud, Jay Shepherd, Greg Wilson, Phaxe, Symphonix, OTT, Sonic Species, Ticon, Gaudi, ANNA, Sebastien Mullaert, Stephan Bodzin, Victor Ruiz, Alex Stein, Grouch, Parasense, LOUD, Outsiders, Whyt Noyz, MX Xander, John 00 Fleming, James Monro and hundreds more.

Along with the line up, the graphics have gone through an ever evolving morphology to where they are now, and will continue to develop and reflect the natural surroundings, musical programming, ethos of the festival and of course the beautiful people who attend. We have one incredible designer in Patrick Demarq, who actually took the reigns from Nick Tearle who built our first ever site, and who now heads up our marketing department. Like the line up, the family grows and evolves over time, but everyone who shares our ethos and has a can-do-attitude is always welcome to play a part in the growth of Noisily.

With the marginally increased footfall in 2017, we have been able to increase our line up budget and curate our most exciting weekend of music yet.

The Noisily Stage is paying tribute to our German friends this July, with no fewer than 8 of our main headliners coming from what is widely regarded as the home of Techno in Europe. All of them big hitters – Michael Mayer, Dominik Eulberg, Gabriel Ananda, Acid Pauli, Andreas Henneberg, Dirty Doering, Soukie & Windish and Unique Repeat.

These masters of the European sound are supported from all sides by Frenchmen Cosmic Boys, and of course talent from home shores in the form of industry legend James Monro, Tripswitch, Noisily’s very own Tom Real, and Warm Up head honcho and all round Techno lover, Aidan Doherty.

The Treehouse has had a big boost as well, with homegrown talent the order of the day. Relative newcomers such as High Rankin and Aud!o are flanked on all sides by Bass heavy legends and beatsmiths Gaudi, Beardyman, LTJ Bukem, The Prototypes and Congo Natty.

Not to be outdone, the Liquid Stage once again proves why it is the UK’s psychedelic Mecca. Mixing the best in global Psy Trance whilst simultaneously giving equal rights to unsung heroes and local gallopers, 2017 sees the likes of Atmos, Zen Mechanics, Dick Trevor, Human Element, Ajja, Burn In Noise, Earthling, Laughing Buddha, Emok, Regan, Krumelur and E.V.P bless our sacred valley.

As you can see we’ve been busy, and we’ve only released the main stages. The Pablo Di$cobar returns for 2017, along with a number of smaller but equally awesome venues, including an improved chill out space and new micro venue. Watch this space, and if you haven’t got them already, grab you tickets now.
