Nearly ten years ago Noisily co-founder Charles (who is writing this, in the 3rd person…) was getting loose in Leeds whilst at University, and at a suitably grimy after party met a guy called Mike. Mike was a dude, really lovely, and a talented musician with a penchant for Bass music. Cut to the Christmas of 2017 and the writing of this Noise Piece, and it turns out Mike is one of the leading lights in Slamboree. Who’da thunk it!
Read their Bio here, in their own words…
“Slamboree is a live band with a Smörgåsbord of performers, daredevils and entertainers. We take each show as it comes, assembling a different crew from our collective for each show and every gig is very different to the last.
Bass-driven beats, live orchestra, guitars, percussion, loops, visuals, brass, accordion, pyrotechnics and circus. The genres bounce around breakbeat, dubstep, drum & bass, dub, techno and electro fused with balkan, folk, and ‘gypsy’ flavours… all original and all live.
Within just a couple of years together we’ve been fortunate enough to perform our live shows at some amazing places such as Glastonbury Festival, Electric Picnic, Boomtown, Shambala, Beatherder, Kendal Calling and the River Thames in London.
Thanks for your support and we hope you enjoy the show! Please feel free to share our links with your friends as we’re fully independent and rely solely on word-of-mouth.
See u in a field / club / rave / party / circus / warehouse / desert / fridge soon!”
Well we’ll see them at Noisily too! OooooSSSSsssshhhhHHHHhhh!
